The world is changing FAST....

The world is changing FAST.

Running an online-home-business is THE best way to build wealth for you future and it’s very exciting to see the changes that are taking place so quickly.  Whoever would have though Twitter and the words “What are you doing” would become a household name.

With new tools, software and the World Wide Web growing exponentially, to make-money with an online business could become quicker, easier, more interesting and even more profitable.

Take a look at this video to grasp the rate of change. Its 4.56 mins in length, made in 2008 and already needs updating, but it’s interesting to watch and the music is great also.

So now…

Can you imagine the 3D world seen in the cinema being part of your everyday life?

Can you imagine conducting business, meeting someone new, even holding a conference in a 3D world?

The impact on everyone working-online will be huge, and there are a group of people who are diligently working on making this a reality.  Whilst it’s easy to scoff, remember, it wasn’t that long ago there was no such thing as Microsoft or a Pentium!

The video below demonstrates the influence of the virtual world with people meeting, marrying and earning money all in virtual environment,  it shows you just how far we’ve come, and bearing in mind the rate of change is always speeding up, we could be trading in a 3D world sooner rather than later!

I am not saying it’s not a little weird but it’s reality… or maybe not…!

Enjoy

Google Wave...

November 17, 2009 no responses

OK so we all use Social Networks like Twitter, Youtube and Facebook so do we need another Social Media site to meet, talk, and sell.

Oh gosh did I say sell…. sorry about that, it was a slip of the tongue.  I meant to say make friends.

Anyway let’s get to the point of the post. Google are attempting to enter the Social Media arena with a new application called Google Wave. It’s kind of like a Twitter with stuff. The live chat looks interesting as it shows the words as the other person is typing, which make it kind of like real time as they speak so to speak!  You can disable this if you want especially if your spelling is like mine and you want to check your chat first.

Could it replace email?  Who really knows but it may replace a lot of short message type emails.

One gizmo I really like is the ability to just click and drag photos straight into the message, this really is brilliant. Also the link directly to your blog has huge potential.

Anyway here is a video crated by Google, as you would imagine it’s very long at 1hour 20minutes, but it’s worth a look because we should assume Google will launch this tool or a very similar one and maybe it would be good to be ahead of the crowd!

Mind you,  its another learning curve!

Pareto & Priorities in Business...

Pareto & Priorities in Business

There are two things that business owners, be that Internet Marketers or traditional bricks and Mortar business owners find challenging: thinking ahead and doing things in order of importance.  Establishing priorities and doing FIRST Things FIRST.

Learning to establish priorities and doing first things first can make the difference between success in business and just surviving. Working hard or working smart. And the same can be said for all the other areas of our lives.

SET PRIORITIES-INTERNET MARKETING-COURTNEY WILDING

The fact is you will simply never get everything done and you must accept this premise.

Something’s are just not worth your input.

James Fields (Management Consultancy) stated the average worker is productive only 55 percent of the time, 15 percent is spent on personal time and the remaining 30 percent is lost through poor planning, unclear assignments and poor discipline.

.

Most business owners have heard of the Pareto Principle, more commonly known as the 80/20 Principle. Roughly stated this says that 80% of your business comes from 20 % of your customers.  It’s more a rule of thumb than an absolute rule but it’s fairly accurate.

Other examples of the Pareto Principle are:

20 percent of a book contains 80 percent of the content.

20 percent of our work gives us 80 percent of our satisfaction.

20 percent of our products bring in 80 percent of the profits.

When it comes to your priorities, 20 percent of your priorities will give you 80 percent of your production IF you spend your time, energy, money and personnel on the top 20 percent of your priorities.

In the area of customers, it is vital to identify the 20 percent who account for 80 percent of your business. These are your “crème de la crème” and strategies must be put in place to care for them and provide outstanding communication and service.

For your team, you must identify the top 20 percent producers. Spend 80 percent of your people time with these people to develop them to their full potential

Before you can invest time in ensuring your priorities are met you have to clearly define what they are.

Establishing priorities will come from your mission, your goals, your time frame, all other resources, planning ahead, current emergencies/crisis and potential return on investment.

Also you have to understand where you currently invest your time, and the best way to do this is to simply keep a record for a two week period of the activities you undertake and then analyse  and compare them to your known priorities.  You might be surprised to discover just how much time you spend on dealing with things that are low priority

When you establish priorities you could get as much as a fourfold return in your productivity. Think what this would mean in your business!  Every business person needs to understand the Pareto Principle and how to define priorities as it applies to the areas of customers, marketing, systems, team and leadership.

In leadership, take an honest look at the question “What do I have to do that no one else can do?”  A leader can give up everything except final responsibility; you must learn to delegate and never abdicate. You can decide whether you will be reactive or proactive when it comes to the use of your time.

The questions are not;

“Will I be busy?” but “How will I invest my time?”

“Will my calendar be full?” but “Who will I choose to fill my calendar?”

“Will I see people?” but “Who will I choose to see?”

Here are six simple steps to begin your new focus on the 20 percent and setting priorities.

1. Clarify exactly your mission and goals.

2. Place a value on all your activity.  What is the value of ONE minute?  If you new this you would treat it with respect.

3. Don’t allow others to determine your schedule.

4. Complete a time audit on yourself and evaluate your daily routine.

5. Recognise time wasters.

6. Adopt a do it know mentality and either; Do it, Delegate it or dump it.

Do this, make appropriate changes and watch your productivity and personal satisfaction rise to new heights!

I highly recommend the excellent book The 80/20 Principle by Richard Koch

Until the next time

Leadership & Vision...

October 7, 2009 no responses

Leadership – Who’s driving your business?

When business performance needs to improve it is essential to start by exploring the vision of the leadership in that business. From my coaching experience I have found in many instances, that where a business is not performing, the leadership direction is unclear at best and utterly confused at worst. Often where there is a vision held in the mind of the leader it is not understood by everyone involved in the business.

Direction is about painting a picture of the future in the form of a vision.

PAINT A CLEAR PICTURE right

The essential component in all great leadership stories is the ability to create a story that includes a vision for the future and then share that vision. Understanding this is a powerful creative tool (especially in MLM) where team leadership is one of the key elements of success. When embraced by you this will have an immense impact on the success that you can be obtain.

Do you have a clear written vision?

As an entrepreneur, regardless of whether you run a business making money online, working from home or running a conventional bricks and mortar business, you must have a vision – a vision of where the organization will be and what it will look like in the future. There is little value in turning up at the airport and asking for a ticket!  You have to know your destination and where you intend to fly from (the starting point).  Our vision at Carbon copy Pro it to create 100 Millionaires by 2012.

You must create a vision and then share it if you intend to gain a high level of involvement and commitment.

Who is driving your business? Due to the rapid and continual changes occurring both online and offline and the speed of the change we know face you will be challenged if and when the future direction of your business becomes unclear. Excellence in the level of service demanded by the customer today increases as you meet the level of his expectations of yesterday. The need to continue to deliver to the market place, a product or service that is better today than it was yesterday will challenge you and a clear well formed vision will help guide you into making better choices.

More will follow on this topic.
